Berkeley Scott Recruitment is actively recruiting experienced Catering Assistants and Kitchen Assistants for school catering roles across Beckenham. Flexible temporary opportunities with weekday hours and weekly pay are offered to suit school-term schedules.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or Food Service Assistant. School catering experience is advantageous.
• Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete the required training.
• An Enhanced DBS check covering the child workforce, including the relevant barred list check where required, or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A passion for delivering excellent service and supporting busy school catering operations.
• Pay rates are dependent on experience, the client and the role undertaken.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Chef, Catering Manager and wider kitchen team.
• Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold meals.
• Serving food to pupils and staff while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Liaising with teachers and school staff to ensure a smooth meal service.
• Operating tills and handling payments where required.
• Cleaning and clearing down kitchen and dining areas after service.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Following food safety procedures and allergen guidelines at all times.
• Keeping food service areas clean, organised and well stocked.
