Job summary

Almond Valley Care Home in Almondside, Livingston is a purpose-built 66-bed home delivering Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care. The Catering Assistant role is contracted for 20 hours per week at £12.71 per hour, with PVG paid, pension, uniform provided, and 5.6 weeks annual leave on a full-time equivalent basis.

You will join the kitchen from the outset, support food preparation, maintain hygiene and stock organisation, work with the Chef, and help ensure meals are prepared

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Almond Valley Care Home is a purpose built 66 bed care home located in Almondside, Livingston. Providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care, the home offers a modern, high quality environment where team members can deliver person centred care, develop their skills and be part of a supportive and welcoming team.

Catering Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 20 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

Joining a brand new care home from the very beginning offers a genuinely exciting opportunity to help shape the kitchen environment, team culture and day to day dining experience as the service develops. As part of the team from the outset, you will play an important role in creating a clean, organised and welcoming kitchen where high standards and teamwork are valued. As Catering Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard. You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times. This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
