Job summary

Almond Valley Care Home in Livingston is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant to join a brand new care home initiative from the very beginning, helping shape the kitchen environment, team culture and day-to-day dining experience as the service develops. You will support the delivery of high-quality meals in a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen.

Work closely with the Chef and team to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard, with a consistent routine and opportunities

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• As Catering Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment.
• This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.
• You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation.
• Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.
• This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.

Almond Valley Care Home is a purpose built 66 bed care home located in Almondside, Livingston. Providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care, the home offers a modern, high quality environment where team members can deliver person centred care, develop their skills and be part of a supportive and welcoming team.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 20 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
