Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice in Headingley, Leeds, is looking for a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our caring team. You will assist in preparing meals, refreshments and maintain kitchen cleanliness, following hygiene standards to ensure a safe, welcoming service for patients and staff.

The role is 37.5 hours per week on a rota including weekends, with enhanced pay for unsociable hours and a comprehensive benefits package. Experience in catering and good communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or food service environment.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Good communication with diverse groups including patients and staff.
• Ability to work as part of a supportive team.

Catering Assistant Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice Grove Rd, Headingley, Leeds LS6 2AE 37.5 hours per week (including weekends on a rota) £12.71 per hour (plus 30% enhancement for weekends and competitive benefits) Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one-size-fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters. About us Shift time: 08:00 - 18:30 (3-4 days per week including alternate weekends) Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice is in the heart of Headingley, Leeds. We provide expert palliative care at a time when people need this the most. We support you when you are living with a life-limiting condition, and also help your loved ones and family. We support people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease by combining specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with other emotional, practical and spiritual support. We are able to provide care in our inpatient unit and our CNS team are on hand to visit people and provide care for people in their own home. About the Role This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will be working in a supportive team where everybody is working to provide the very best service for our patients. The main purpose of this role is to assist in the provision of meals and refreshments, as well as the maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment. Other duties include but are not limited to: Maintaining a clean working environment in line with cleaning schedules Documenting and recording all information such as food temperatures and routine cleaning.
