Job summary

Kingswinford Academy is seeking a Catering Assistant to join the catering team to cover maternity leave. The role supports food preparation, service and stock control within the school dining facilities, under the direction of the Catering Supervisor.

The successful candidate will assist with cooking and meal production for pupils and staff, help maintain hygiene standards, and contribute to events and themed days. This post is based on-site at Kingswinford Academy.

Qualifications

• Assist in the preparation and production of hot food, sandwiches, salads, baked goods and all other food served.
• Assist in stock control including stock takes and delivery monitoring.
• Provide a positive friendly customer service for all pupils, staff and visitors using the facility.
• Assist with all aspects of cleaning of the kitchen, equipment and other food service areas ensuring that all check-lists are completed.
• Assist in the production of food for special events, theme days and functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the smooth running of the food service and support the preparation and production of meals.
• Assist in stock control including stock takes and delivery monitoring.
• Provide a friendly, responsive service to pupils, staff and visitors in the dining area.
• Support cleaning of kitchen, equipment and related areas and ensure check-lists are completed.
• Assist in preparing food for special events and themed days.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our Catering team as soon as possible to cover for Maternity Leave. The Catering Assistant, under the direction of the Catering Supervisor will be responsible for the food preparation and the delivery of the food service at Kingswinford Academy in line with the school's ethos of achieving high standards is maintained and/or exceeded.
