Job summary

Kingswinford Academy is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our Catering team on maternity cover basis, term-time only.

Hours are Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 2.30pm, with duties including food preparation, hot and cold service, stock control and general kitchen cleaning.

You will provide friendly, welcoming service to pupils and staff, support events and ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.

Qualifications

• Assist in food preparation and production of hot foods, sandwiches, salads, and baked goods.
• Assist with stock control, stock takes and delivery monitoring.
• Provide positive, friendly customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.
• Assist in producing food for events, theme days and functions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth running of the food service.
• Assist in preparation and production of meals for service.
• Maintain stock levels and monitor deliveries.
• Keep kitchen areas clean and comply with hygiene checks.

Catering Assistant

MATERNITY COVER

We are seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our Catering team as soon as possible to cover for Maternity Leave.

The Catering Assistant, under the direction of the Catering Supervisor will be responsible for the food preparation and the delivery of the food service at Kingswinford Academy in line with the school's ethos of achieving high standards is maintained and/or exceeded.

Key responsibilities include

• To assist in the smooth running of the food service to include assisting in the preparation and production of hot food, sandwiches, salads, baked goods and all other food served
• To assist in all aspects of stock control including stock takes and delivery monitoring
• To provide a positive friendly customer service for all pupils, staff and visitors using the facility
• To assist with all aspects of cleaning of the kitchen, equipment and other food service areas ensuring that all check-lists are completed.
• To assist in the production of food for special events, theme days and functions
