Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to work across local schools across Grimsby on a full time, temporary basis.

The role involves assisting with food preparation, service and daily kitchen duties in busy school environments. A valid Food Hygiene Certificate and DBS Update Service are required. You will work weekday hours with no weekend work, in a supportive educational setting with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• A valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
• DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Previous catering or kitchen experience is desirable.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of food.
• Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties.
• Washing up and keeping kitchen equipment clean.
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen surfaces, utensils and work areas.
• Ensuring food hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained.
• Assisting with the safe storage and handling of food.
• Helping with the setup and clearing of dining areas.
• Providing a friendly and professional service to pupils and school staff.
• Following instructions from the kitchen supervisor or catering manager.

The Role

• Position: Catering Assistant
• Location: Grimsby
• Pay Rate: £15- £17 per hour

Essential Requirements

• A valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
• A DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment is desirable.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A positive, flexible and hardworking attitude.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
• Reliability and punctuality.
• The ability to work in a busy kitchen environment.
