Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment Ltd. is recruiting a Catering Assistant for a welcoming school in Warrington (WA5). The role is part-time, 11:15am-2:15pm, with an immediate start to support daily meal service and kitchen duties.

You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain a clean and hygienic environment, and work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service for pupils and staff during term-time.

Qualifications

• Previous catering, hospitality or kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety is desirable.
• Ability to work well in a busy school catering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of meals.
• Support kitchen team with general food prep and clean-up.
• Set up and clear dining areas for pupils and staff.

Catering Assistant - Warrington WA5. Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming school in Warrington (WA5) for a Catering Assistant to join their team on an immediate start basis.

Location: Warrington, WA5

Hours: 11:15am - 2:15pm

Start: Immediate

The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the school kitchen team with the day-to-day preparation and service of meals, helping to ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments
• Supporting the kitchen team with general food preparation
• Setting up and clearing dining areas
• Washing up and maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
• Following food hygiene, health & safety procedures
• Supporting with stock rotation and kitchen organisation
• Providing a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff
• Working effectively as part of a busy catering team

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, kitchen or similar role
• A good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety - Level 2 preferred
• A positive and reliable attitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
• A friendly and approachable manner when working with pupils and staff
• A valid DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Tradewind Recruitment
• School or education-based catering experience is desirable but not essential
