Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant to work at a local school in Hull on a full-time, temporary basis. The role runs Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm, with a pay rate of £15 per hour, starting ASAP and lasting until Christmas 2026.

You will assist with food preparation and service, support the kitchen team, keep equipment clean, and uphold food safety standards. A valid Food Hygiene Certificate and an Update Service DBS are required, with previous catering

Qualifications

• A valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
• A DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Previous catering or kitchen experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of food.
• Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties.
• Washing up and keeping kitchen equipment clean.
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen surfaces, utensils and work areas.
• Ensuring food hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained.
• Assisting with the safe storage and handling of food.
• Helping with the setup and clearing of dining areas.
• Providing a friendly and professional service to pupils and school staff.
• Following instructions from the kitchen supervisor or catering manager.
