Job summary

Berkeley Scott Recruitment is actively recruiting experienced Catering Assistants for term-time positions across schools with Impact Food Group. Roles are flexible and designed to fit around childcare and other commitments, with weekly pay and ongoing temporary assignments.

We’re seeking reliable individuals, able to support kitchen teams, handle food service and maintain high hygiene standards in a school setting. Prior catering experience and relevant safety qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous Catering Assistant experience; education in food safety is desirable.
• Food safety and allergen qualification or willingness to complete one.
• Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Chef, Catering Manager and wider kitchen team
• Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold food
• Serving meals to children while working closely with teachers and care staff
• Operating tills and handling payments where required
• Cleaning down kitchen and dining areas at the end of service
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Following all food safety and allergen procedures at all times
• Keeping service areas clean, organised and stocked
• Working with school staff to deliver efficient catering service

As a Catering Assistant, your duties will include

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant (experience within education is desirable but not essential)
• A Food Safety and Food Allergen qualification, or willingness to complete one
• An Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List, or willingness to obtain one
• Good communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work well in a busy catering environment
• A positive, reliable and professional attitude
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A passion for delivering excellent service and supporting busy catering operations
