Job summary

The Carlton Academy, part of Redhill Academy Trust, is hiring a Catering Assistant. This 32.5-hour per week, term-time role sits on the Redhill Pay Scale Band 5 (Scale Point 28) and is based in Carlton.

You will help deliver nutritious meals, operate the cashless till, assist with food service, and keep kitchens and dining areas clean and safe in line with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Positive and motivated team player with excellent customer service.
• Passion for supporting health and wellbeing of young people through nutritious meals.
• Willingness to work in a busy school kitchen and adhere to standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a till in line with NRS cashless catering system.
• Assist with the counter service of food.
• Help with the preparation of hot and cold food.
• Keep all food preparation and service areas clean and tidy.
• Wash and dry equipment.
• Ensure the dining room is clean and tidy at the end of each session, including wiping of tables.
• Take delivery of food stock and ensure they are to the required standards.
• Have a full understanding of the required level of health and safety, food hygiene and nutritional standards.
• Have good product knowledge.

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll:
