Job summary

The Carlton Academy is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant to join our busy school meal service. The role is part-time (32.5 hours weekly) within Redhill Academy Trust, starting as soon as possible, with term-time scheduling.

You will support high-quality meals, deliver friendly customer service, and work as part of a dedicated team to promote healthy, nutritious options for students.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or school meals is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
• Basic understanding of health and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a till in line with the NRS cashless catering system.
• Assist with the counter service of food.
• Help with the preparation of hot and cold food.
• Keep all food preparation and service areas clean and tidy.
• Wash and dry equipment.
• Ensure the dining room is clean and tidy at the end of each session, including wiping tables.
• Take delivery of food stock and ensure they meet required standards.
• Understand the required level of health and safety, food hygiene and nutritional standards.
• Have good product knowledge.
