Job summary

Aramark UK is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join the team at West Suffolk College, IP333RL. You will deliver friendly customer service, prepare and serve beverages, and help across the catering operation.

Permanent role with 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday 7am–2:30pm, term time 34 weeks. Full training provided and opportunities for progression within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous catering, hospitality, retail, coffee shop or customer service experience desirable but not essential; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, professional and efficient customer service to students, staff and visitors.
• Prepare and serve Starbucks hot and cold beverages to required brand standards.
• Serve food, snacks and other products across the catering operation.
• Operate tills and process cash/card transactions accurately.
• Maintain clean, attractive and fully stocked counters, displays and service areas.
• Replenish and rotate stock and assist with deliveries.
• Follow food safety, allergen, Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and presentation, including general cleaning duties.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
• Work as part of the wider catering team and support other college catering areas and general duties as required.

Key Requirements:

• Able to work effectively as part of a team in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual,flexibleand willing to support different catering areas.
• Good attention to detail andhigh standardsof cleanliness and presentation.
• Willingness to learn barista skills and prepare beverages to Starbucks standards.
• Basic food hygiene/allergen/Health & Safety awareness desirable; full training provided.
• Able to follow instructions,proceduresand company standards.
• Willing to complete required online training and safeguarding requirements.
