Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join our FM Segment and be based at North Bromsgrove High School. Working 39.6 weeks per year and 21.25 hours per week, from 10:45am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a pay rate of £12.85 per hour.

Role involves meal prep, food safety, stock management, and serving customers. An enhanced family-friendly package is available, along with opportunities for in-house training and progression within a forward-thinking organisation.

Qualifications

  • Experience of cooking/food preparation for large numbers.
  • Willingness to gain recognised catering qualification.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in the kitchen.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Awareness of COSHH regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals in accordance with recipes/methods.
  • Prepare ingredients for meals under direction.
  • Adhere to HACCP and food safety regulations & procedures.
  • Keep clean and dirty processes separate.
  • Prepare food for chilled and/or hot transportation.
  • Decant and/or serve food where required.
  • Use current management system to maintain food safety records.
  • Refill and replace consumables.
  • Maintain stock levels and store supplies securely.
  • Treat customers with courtesy and consideration.
  • Work safely around kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues.

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join our FM Segment of the business and join the team based out of North Bromsgrove High School. Working 39.6 weeks per year.

Available Shift Pattern: Working 21.25 hours per week.

Working 10.45am - 3.00pm Monday - Friday.

Pay: £12.85 per Hour.

Making Possible
  • Preparation of meals: prepare food in accordance with agreed recipes/methods
  • Prepare ingredients for meals under direction.
  • Adhering to current HACCP and food safety regulations & procedures
  • Ensure that clean and dirty processes and kept separate
  • Preparing food for chilled and or hot transportation.
  • Decant and/or serve food where required
  • Use current management system to maintain food safety records.
  • Refill and replace consumables
  • Monitor and arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies
  • Treat all customers with courtesy and consideration
  • Work safely around the kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels, including kitchen materials.
  • Assist in managing waste through correct product measurement.
  • Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training & by attending courses.
  • Always adhere to all company policies & procedures
  • Carry out all instructions given by the management team & head office.
  • Treat all customers with courtesy and consideration, in accordance with customer service training.
