Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a Catering Assistant to help create a welcoming food service environment and support the delivery of safe, high-quality catering. You will work to ensure customers receive excellent service daily in a clean, professional setting.

You will support colleagues, maintain high standards of presentation and personal hygiene, and follow health and food safety procedures while handling stock, cards, and catering operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in catering, hospitality or similar customer-facing environment.
• Good understanding of food safety, allergens and kitchen best practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all customers.
• Support the safe service of food and beverages in line with Serco standards.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across counters, tables, service areas, crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
• Follow health, safety, food hygiene and food safety procedures, including temperature monitoring and opening/closing checks.
• Assist with stock management, replenishment, deliveries and reporting low stock levels.
• Process card transactions accurately and support wider catering operations as required.

What you'll do as a Catering Assistant

Does this sound like you?

• Level 2 qualification in Food Hygiene or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year's experience in a catering, hospitality, or similar customer-facing environment
• Good understanding of food safety, allergens, and kitchen best practices is highly desirable
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
• You're a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Vetting and checks
