Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is offering a permanent Catering Assistant role based at University Hospital Ayr. You will join the Catering Production & Services Team, assisting in food preparation, delivery, service, wash-up and related duties for patients, staff and functions.

The post is full-time, with Mon-Fri 0930-1445/15 and Sat-Sun 0745-1500/30, and a 7 days on/7 days off pattern. Desirable Food Hygiene Certificate; prior experience in large-scale catering is advantageous but full training will be

  • Desirable Food Hygiene Certificate; essential to complete within first 3 months of employment.
  • Desirable previous experience of working within a large-scale catering environment would be an advantage, however full training will be given.

  • Assist in all aspects of food preparation, delivery, service and wash-up/cleaning relating to catering services for patients, staff, visitors and functions.
  • Maintain good communication with colleagues and customers; practical skills are essential.

Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Assistant based at University Hospital Ayr. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours

Post – Mon- Fri 0930-1445/15 and Sat and Sun 0745-1500/30.

7days on & 7 days off

What You Will Do

You will work as part of the Catering Production & Services Team, assisting in all aspects of food preparation, delivery, service, wash-up cleaning duties relating to the provision of catering services to Patients, Staff, Visitors and for functions. You will have good communication, verbal or otherwise and practical skills are essential.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post

Desirable for current Food Hygiene Certificate, or essential to complete with the first 3 months of employment. Desirable previous experience of working within a large scale catering environment would be an advantage, however full training will be given.
