Job Summary: Maximise the profitability of specified product categories, improve customer satisfaction, and increase cash profit.

We are looking to recruit a Category / Buying Manager in the Retail Grocery team, responsible for Crisps, Snacks & Nuts, based in either Eccles, Wellingborough, or Watford.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category plans to meet sales, margin, and profit targets, maintaining product availability.
• Grow own brand business through sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Negotiate annually with suppliers for competitive terms.
• Respond to customer feedback, shaping category plans accordingly.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly.
• Communicate category plans clearly to ensure understanding and buy-in.
• Ensure product displays reflect the principles of good, better, best.
• Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities and improve processes.
• Adhere to the Business Code of Conduct, acting with integrity and promoting diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

Operational skills relevant for this role include:

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience

• Previous buying experience desired.
