About The Role

Reporting to: Lead Category Manager
Based: Wellingborough, Eccles or Watford

Job Summary

Maximising the profitability of specified product categories, improving customer satisfaction, and cash profit.

We are looking to recruit a Category / Buying Manager in the Retail Grocery team, managing Crisps, Snacks & Nuts, based at Eccles, Wellingborough, or Watford offices.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category plans to meet sales, margin, and profit targets while maintaining product availability.
• Grow own brand business through sourcing and strategic initiatives.
• Negotiate annually with suppliers for competitive terms.
• Gather and respond to customer feedback to shape category plans, linking to sales plans and customer satisfaction.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly.
• Communicate category plans and objectives clearly to ensure understanding and buy-in.
• Ensure product displays reflect a good, better, best principle.
• Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities and improve processes.
• Adhere to the Business Code of Conduct, acting with integrity, promoting diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

Operational Skills
