About the role

Job Summary: Maximise profitability of specified product categories, improve customer satisfaction, and increase cash profit.
We are recruiting a Category / Buying Manager for the Retail Grocery team, focusing on Crisps, Snacks & Nuts, based at either our Eccles, Wellingborough, or Watford offices.
You will be responsible for
- Developing and implementing category plans to meet sales, margin, and profit targets while maintaining product availability.
- Growing the own brand business, sourcing products to increase sales and margins.
- Negotiating annually with suppliers to secure competitive terms.
- Responding to customer feedback to shape category plans, linking to sales strategies and satisfaction metrics.
- Handling customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Communicating category plans and objectives effectively to ensure understanding and buy-in.
- Ensuring product displays reflect good, better, and best principles.
- Collaborating with the team to identify opportunities and improve processes.
- Adhering to our Business Code of Conduct, acting with integrity, championing diversity, and practicing due diligence.
You will need
Operational skills:
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and make commercial decisions.

Experience relevant for this job:
