Job Title: Head of Category

Direct Reports: X5+

Location: Slough or Weybridge Office

Salary: £90,000-£100,000 depending on experience

Description:

As the Head of Category Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the category strategy for our leading FMCG categories, focusing on optimising business performance and category growth. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the strategic vision for Category & Merchandising
• Collaborating with Senior Category Managers, Category Managers, and Category Assistants to develop and execute operational plans
• Determining pricing strategies for products within the category
• Selecting the right products to include in the category, ensuring they align with consumer preferences, market trends, and overall company strategy. Managing the product assortment to meet customer demands and maximise sales.
• Ensuring successful execution of the Category & Merchandising strategy
• Conducting comprehensive range reviews, including space, flow, assortment, and SKU distribution, to optimise category performance
• Designing and executing promotional campaigns, discounts, and special offers to drive sales and attract customers

Key Requirements:

• Strong leadership background and experience in category management or retail buying
• Proven track record of delivering results and driving improvements
• In-depth knowledge of market dynamics and customer drivers
• Ability to build effective relationships and communicate with clarity
• Experience in supplier management and performance metrics
• Passion for the industry, products, and the customer
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
