Job summary

Tarmac is seeking an experienced LGV Driver (Category C) for the Agecroft site in Salford. The role involves operating a bitumen spray tanker across the North West, with occasional other Category C vehicles.

You will ensure loads are secure, vehicles are maintained, and routes are planned safely in collaboration with the Transport team. The position offers varied shifts including overnights and weekends, with strong earning potential and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV Class 2 licence held and current.
• Digital Tachograph Card valid.
• CPC Qualification Card valid.
• Experience in similar heavy industry role.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety policies.
• Flexible and adaptable to varying patterns.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• ADR carriage of dangerous goods certification (advantageous).
• Heavy mobile plant loading experience (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Drive bitumen spray tanker across the North West region.
• Occasionally drive other Category C vehicles.
• Check the lorry and ancillaries regularly; report defects.
• Ensure journeys are safe, legal and loads secure.
• Liaise with Plant Coordinator and Gang Foreman as a team.
• Follow Driving Regulations and company standards.
• Coordinate with Transport Manager for feedback and issues.
