Job summary

Matchtech is assisting a water company client in recruiting a Catchment Management Officer to lead the delivery of a catchment and water quality strategy across the Southern region. The role is permanent with hybrid working considered.

The successful candidate will coordinate catchment incentive schemes, engage with farmers, regulators and landowners, and deliver workshops that measure the impact of land-use changes on nitrate leaching.

Qualifications

• A degree (or equivalent) in an environmental discipline or related field.
• BASIS Foundation qualification is desirable.
• Experience and strong scientific/technical skills in agronomy and catchment management.
• Ability to engage regulators, landowners and farming communities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead delivery of catchment incentive schemes to farmers to reduce nutrient/pesticide losses to water.
• Identify water quality risks in catchments and support catchment walkover programmes.
• Be the lead contact for catchment management and agronomy within the company area.
• Deliver farm engagements with Catchment Officer and Natural England staff.
