About the Role:
- Seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and motivated individual with extensive experience in Casualty lines to support our position as a leading provider of commercial claims solutions.
- Handle claims efficiently and fairly, adhering to our Claims Charter/Code of Conduct and Claims Process Guidelines.
- Work closely with co-managers, the Head of Casualty Claims, and the Head of Third Party Claims to achieve corporate goals while promoting LSM’s core values.
- Co-manage the Casualty Claims team, reporting to the Head of Casualty Claims.
About the Department & Team:
- Handle claims from notification to conclusion, including analysis, reserves, and payments.
- Manage claims across UK Casualty, High Excess, and Environmental Impairment Liability classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage a cross-section of Casualty claims, ensuring proper investigation and strategy.
- Manage and oversee a team of claims professionals, providing technical and people management guidance.
- Follow claims reserving philosophy and standards, with appropriate referrals.
- Ensure claims are triaged and handled in accordance with company policies and standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including underwriters, brokers, legal professionals, and market experts.
- Participate in day-to-day claims management within the Casualty Integrated Business Unit.
- Contribute to business development and thought leadership initiatives.
- Support the Head of Casualty Claims with insights on trends and performance.
- Enhance the Claims team’s profile through industry engagement and external events.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards, including regular audits.
- Manage third-party relationships with delegated claims handling authority.
- Promote the LSM Claims Charter and deliver excellent client service.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and demonstrate behaviors aligned with our values, including compliance with Conduct Rules, Solvency II, and other standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Degree, GCSEs, A levels, or ACII qualification, or working towards it.
- Extensive experience in the London Market within relevant classes.
- Advanced knowledge of claims handling, including coverage, product lines, and market practices.
- Knowledge of law and insurance regulations across jurisdictions.
- Sound decision-making and judgment skills.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to adapt tasks in a changing environment.
- Organizational, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to monitor market loss trends.
