Blackburn with Darwen Council is advertising a Casual Passenger Assistant role to escort children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to school or college.
The position is casual with no fixed hours or salary; you will be paid for the hours you work and must live within the Borough. The role may lead to permanent positions in the future.

Casual Passenger Assistant will be performing escorting duties for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to school or college.
You will be required to work on a casual basis i.e. as and when required, to cover when the permanent passenger assistant is unavailable.
As this is purely a casual position there are no set hours or salary and you will only be paid for the work/hours you do.
Passenger Assistants are NOT required to drive.
Excellent communication is required both verbally and electronically.
Passenger Assistants are required to accompany pupils with Special Educational Needs to various schools within and outside of the Borough and working hours will usually be at school opening and closing times.
Permanent positions may arise from time to time for some employees. These posts provide the opportunity for interested individuals to provide a safe environment for children with special needs and provide much reward and job satisfaction.
Due to the adhoc nature of this post, it is an essential requirement that you live within the Borough of Blackburn with Darwen.
