24x7 Group is seeking a PASSENGER ASSISTANT to support children and adults on transport routes to school, college, or day care centres. The role emphasizes safety, flexibility, and positive passenger interactions to support our operations.

The position offers term-time work with monthly pay (£560-£860), a contributory pension, training, and a friendly team. DBS checks are required due to work with vulnerable groups.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Transport SEN or vulnerable passengers to and from school, college or day care centres.
• Work in a safe, flexible manner and support company operations.
• Build positive relationships with passengers, carers/parents, and establishments.
• Assist the driver with company vehicles, including wheelchair accessible vehicles.
• Keep passengers patient, occupied and comfortable on journeys.

Job description

PASSENGER ASSISTANT ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Salary: £560- £860 per month (route dependent)

Hours: 12.5 to 20 per week (varies by route)

Your Role

• Transport special needs (SEN) or vulnerable children and adults to and from school, college, or day care centres
• To work in an effective, safe, flexible manner and support the operation of the company.
• To quickly establish positive and professional relationships with passengers, their carers/parents, and the key people at the establishments they attend.
• To assist the driver in company supplied vehicles, which includes - cars, 8 seat people carriers and large wheelchair accessible vehicles.
• To be patient and empathic with the passengers and be able to keep them occupied and comfortable on journeys.

What You Need

• Pass an enhanced criminal record check as you will be working with children, young persons and/or vulnerable adults.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• First Aid Training - and willing to undergo advanced specialist medical training.

This role involves driving children (Child Workforce LW 9) and conveying adults who need to be transported due to age, illness, or disability (Adult Workforce LW 12). The position therefore meets the definition of regulated activity under both child and adult workforce legislative wording and is eligible for an Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list checks.
