Job summary

24x7 Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Passenger Assistant to transport passengers to and from school or day care, working 12.5 to 20 hours per week on a part‑time basis. You will support drivers and ensure safe, courteous journeys.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers (SEN or vulnerable children and/or adults) to and from school, college or day care.
• Work in a safe, effective, flexible manner to support company operations.
• Establish positive, professional relationships with passengers, carers/parents, and establishment staff.
• Assist the driver with company vehicles, including cars, 8-seat carriers and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
• Be patient and empathetic, keeping passengers occupied and comfortable on journeys.

PASSENGER ASSISTANT ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your Role

• Transport special needs (SEN) or vulnerable children and adults to and from school, college, or day care centres
• To work in an effective, safe, flexible manner and support the operation of the company.
• To quickly establish positive and professional relationships with passengers, their carers/parents, and the key people at the establishments they attend.
• To assist the driver in company supplied vehicles, which includes - cars, 8 seat people carriers and large wheelchair accessible vehicles.
• To be patient and empathic with the passengers and be able to keep them occupied and comfortable on journeys.

This role involves driving children (Child Workforce LW 9) and conveying adults who need to be transported due to age, illness, or disability (Adult Workforce LW 12). The position therefore meets the definition of regulated activity under both child and adult workforce legislative wording and is eligible for an Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list checks.
