Job summary

Horley Infant School is seeking a reliable Midday Supervisor to join our lunchtime team. You will help set up and clear the dining area, supervise children, and support them to become more independent during lunch and playtime.

You will engage children in games and activities, promote positive play and healthy eating, and work with a supportive staff team. This casual, zero-hours role offers onsite parking and development opportunities within Greensand Multi Academy Trust.

Qualifications

• Patience, tolerance, sympathy and fairness in dealing with children.
• Ability to initiate play and encourage children to be their best selves.
• Hardworking and conscientious attitude.
• Excellent listening skills for understanding children’s needs.
• Ability to work independently, show initiative and stay calm under pressure.

• Support for OPAL (Outdoor Play & Learning) activities and programs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and clear furniture in the school restaurant and dining area.
• Supervise children during lunchtimes in both dining hall and playground.
• Support the move from dependence to independence during lunchtime.
• Engage children in a wide range of games and activities.
• Promote positive play, good behaviour and healthy eating.
