Job summary

Windrush CofE Primary School is seeking a midday supervisor to support pupils during lunch and play times. You will supervise pupils, promote good eating manners and assist with clearing plates, while following school policies on safety and safeguarding.

The role includes meaningful conversations with children, reporting incidents, and collaborating with teaching staff to maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• First aid qualification would be useful, but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Be on duty in the allocated areas at the assigned times.
• Supervise pupils to ensure good behaviour in and around school.
• Adhere to school policies and procedures (fire, safeguarding, etc).
• Report accidents and request assistance from first aiders until trained.
• Refer parent queries about pupils to the headteacher.
• Report incidents of inappropriate behaviour to the class teacher at lunch end.
• Seek assistance from the headteacher or TA for serious misbehaviour.
• Assist pupils with clearing plates and cutlery; manage spillages.
• Supervise and assist pupils with packed lunches; promote good manners.
• Help children learning to use knives and forks; follow lunch rota.
