Job summary

Sunderland Greyhound Stadia is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to support our fast-paced hospitality team at the venue, keeping kitchens and public areas clean and welcoming for race days and events.

You will operate plate and pot wash machines, assist with stock rotation, and follow Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines, with flexible casual shifts and opportunities to gain experience across ARC venues.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or catering preferred.
• Ability to follow Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.
• Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible shifts and casual work availability.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchens and public areas clean and tidy during and after service.
• Clean and maintain plate wash and pot wash machines daily.
• Assist with stock rotation and safe food storage per regulations.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely, following PPE and safety guidelines.
• Support the team to deliver high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities For The Role

• Ensuring workspaces and public areas remain clean and tidy throughout and after service.
• Carrying out cleaning duties as needed, always following Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.
• Operating and maintaining the plate wash and pot wash machines, including daily cleaning.
• Assisting with stock rotation and safely storing food in line with Health & Safety regulations.
• Using cleaning chemicals when required, while following PPE and safety guidelines.

There are usually a range of shifts available and opportunities for work are based on busy seasons and the annual racing calendar. Positions will be allocated on the day as part of the briefing.
