Job summary

The Devonshire Group is seeking two permanent housekeeping assistants to join our private household team at Bolton Abbey. You will maintain high cleanliness standards and work alongside the Head Housekeeper to keep the residence well-presented, including care for antiques and fine furniture.

The role requires a detail-oriented, discreet team player who can manage housekeeping tasks and support at dinner parties or events. Some weekend/evening hours are possible in a rural estate setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience is preferable, however full training will be provided.
• Must understand the need for discretion and confidentiality.
• Personal transportation to the rural location is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the family home, including making beds and cleaning bathrooms.
• Laundry, ironing, packing and unpacking fine clothing.
• Dusting, polishing, vacuuming, mopping and restocking personal items.
• Occasional pantry assistance and support for dinner parties or events.

Job description

We are looking for two permanent housekeeping assistants to come and join our friendly team responsible for maintaining excellent cleanliness standards within the private household at Bolton Abbey..

Working alongside the Head Housekeeper and housekeeping team to ensure that the house is constantly well-maintained to a high standard. We are looking for someone who has an eye for detail and takes pride in their work. The residence has antiques and fine furniture so you must ideally have experience caring for them (however training can be given if not). The ideal person will be an all-rounder, able to maintain the general tidiness of the family home and happy to help out where needed.

Duties will include (but are not limited to) all required housekeeping to maintain cleanliness throughout the family home, making and changing beds, cleaning bathrooms, laundry, ironing, packing and unpacking fine clothing; dusting, polishing, vacuuming, mopping; restocking personal items as well as the occasional pantry assistance.

The roles are casual. Hours may include working weekends, and evenings, if there is a dinner party, event or similar. Being a team player is key and paramount to the success of the role.

Previous experience is preferable, however full training will be provided. You will understand the need for discretion and confidentiality and must want to help contribute towards our successful team environment.

Due to the rural location and sometimes irregular hours, having personal transportation is necessary.
