Gregory Distribution Ltd in Whitland is seeking a Class 1 Casual Driver to join our team. This role involves farm collections, dairy deliveries, and transhipment duties across rural and motorway routes, with a focus on safe, timely deliveries.

You will perform daily vehicle safety checks, maintain clear communication with the transport team, and participate in regular training to stay updated on industry standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

• UK Class 1 (CE) Licence required.
• DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card required.
• Demonstrated customer service focus.
• Ability to work under deadlines and pressure.
• Confident, polite, and collaborative team player.
• Strong geographical knowledge for route planning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver farm milk and dairy products and perform transhipment duties across rural and motorway routes.
• Collect milk from farms and ensure correct labelling for lab testing.
• Tranship milk deliveries safely to the dairy following procedures.
• Ensure all deliveries/collections are on time to meet client requirements.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks using the company phone.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team and provide progress updates.
• Participate in regular training to stay up to date with industry standards and procedures.

Shift: Casual / Zero Hours - no guaranteed work or fixed hours

About The Role

As a Class 1 Casual Driver, you will:

• Enjoy a varied role that includes farm collections, dairy deliveries, or transhipment duties, offering a mix of rural and motorway driving.
• Ex Farm: Collect fresh milk from local farms and deliver it safely to the dairy, ensuring every delivery is made with care and precision.
• Collect milk samples during farm collections and once back at the depot, ensure all samples are correctly labelled before being dropped off for laboratory testing, in line with quality and food safety requirements.
• Transhipment: Deliver fresh milk to the dairy, ensuring all movements are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational procedures.
• Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time, meeting client requirements and maintaining consistently high standards.
• Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using the company phone to ensure vehicle safety, compliance, and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing updates on progress and any issues encountered.
• Participate in regular training sessions to remain up to date with industry standards, procedures, and best practices.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 (CE) Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
