Job summary

Marriott Worsley Park Hotel and Country Club in Walkden is seeking a Casual Conferencing and Banqueting Associate to welcome guests, ensure prompt service, and maintain quality standards across events. You will assist team members, follow alcohol service procedures, and communicate dietary needs to the kitchen.

You will set up tables, assist with service areas, manage guest satisfaction, and help with coffee breaks and buffets per Banquet Event Order.

Responsibilities

• Set tables according to event type and service standards, with linens, glassware, and cutlery.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each course and/or beverage.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables and clear courses per standards.
• Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations as per Banquet Event Order.
• Assemble tables and service stations per company standards.
• Address special banquet arrangements requested by guests.
• Replenish buffet items to ensure freshness from open to close.
• Follow up on special banquet arrangements to ensure compliance.
• Process all payments in accordance with accounting procedures.

Job description

This position is for a Casual Conferencing and Banqueting Associate based at The Marriott Worsley Park Hotel and Country Club M28 2QT.

Specific job duties include;

• Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting
• Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Follow appropriate procedures for serving alcohol
• Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Set tables according to type of event and service standards, including types of linens, glassware, plate/chinaware, and silverware, ensuring all supplies meet quality standards.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of assigned tables including ensuring courses are cleared according to department standards
• Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in Banquet Event Order.
• Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts and cordial carts with specified tools, and equipment according to company standards.
• Respond to and try to fulfil any special banquet event arrangements requested by guest.
• Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation from opening to closing
• Follow up on special banquet event arrangements requested by guest to ensure compliance.
• Process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies.
