Job summary

Leeds Marriott Hotel is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Casual Conference & Events Associates to join our team. You will help set up conference rooms, welcome guests and assist with catering during events, ensuring every function runs smoothly.

This casual role offers flexible shifts across weekdays, evenings and weekends, with training provided. You’ll work closely with the Conference & Events, Food & Beverage and Kitchen teams to deliver memorable experiences for our guests.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality, events or F&B experience is advantageous but training is provided.
• Positive, enthusiastic and approachable personality.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to work flexibly across weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Organised with attention to detail in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up and preparation of conference rooms and event spaces.
• Ensure spaces are presented to high standards before, during and after events.

We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Casual Conference & Events Associates to join our team and support the smooth running of our conference and events operation at Leeds Marriott Hotel.

From corporate meetings and conferences to weddings, private celebrations and special occasions, you will play an important role in ensuring every event runs smoothly and our guests receive an exceptional experience.

This is a casual position, offering flexible working opportunities to support the needs of our business. Shifts will vary depending on event requirements and business levels, including weekdays, evenings and weekends.

What you'll do

• Assist with the set-up and preparation of conference rooms, meeting spaces and event suites in line with event requirements.

• Ensure all meeting rooms and event spaces are presented to the highest standards before, during and after each event.

• Welcome guests and delegates, providing a warm, friendly and professional service.

• Support the delivery of food and beverage services during conferences, meetings, weddings and other functions.

• Serve refreshments, lunches, dinners and drinks, ensuring guests' needs are attended to throughout their event.

• Respond promptly and positively to guest requests and queries, escalating any issues where necessary.

• Maintain cleanliness, presentation and organisation across all conference and event areas.

• Work closely with colleagues across the Conference & Events, Food & Beverage and Kitchen teams to ensure seamless event delivery.

• Assist with room turnarounds, clearing and resetting event spaces efficiently.

• Follow all health and safety, food hygiene and company procedures.

This role requires the ability to move and lift items of up to 25lbs (approximately 11kg), as well as standing, sitting and walking for extended periods. You will be required to assist with moving furniture, setting up event spaces and handling event equipment. Maintaining a professional appearance in a clean uniform and adhering to all health and safety requirements are also essential.
