Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking Casual Cleaners to cover multiple locations across the City of Salford. Shifts are variable to meet service requirements, with duties including cleaning, buffing, sweeping, vacuuming and related general cleaning tasks.

You will work in schools and other city buildings; a DBS check is required and the cost (£49.50) will be deducted from initial salary payments. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and provide proof of address during interview.

• Passport/ID – You will be required to provide original documentation confirming your right to work in the UK. Successful candidates will also be required to provide proof of address.

About the role

We have multiple posts available at various locations throughout the City of Salford. The hours are variable, subject to service requirements. Pay is £13.65 per hour, plus 12.07 % of your hourly rate of pay holiday entitlement. As a Casual Cleaner you will work in various schools and non-educational buildings within a set area of the city. Duties will include cleaning, buffing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning and other general domestic cleaning duties.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check – currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
