Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking a flexible premises operative to combine cleaning and light catering duties across Salford. The role involves cleaning to required standards, assisting with catering, and supporting the transportation of meals and supplies to schools and other Citywide locations.

You must have a clean UK driving licence; a DBS check is required and you will travel between sites. Full training will be provided.

Working Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday 11am - 6.00pm with some flexibility)

About the role

The role combines the cleaning of a premise to the required standard, assisting with general catering and cleaning duties, and the efficient transportation of meals, mail, and other goods / equipment to a variety of schools and other locations across the Citywide sites.

Knowledge of commercial cleaning would be advantageous but full training will be provided.

The post holder must have a clean UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel within the city. A vehicle will be provided for you to carry out your duties within your hours of work.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
