Job summary

The Celtic Collection invites applications for a Casual Chef to join our Culinary team at Celtic Manor Resort. You will help deliver exceptional food standards, maintain safe and hygienic kitchen practices, and support guest experiences across our resort.

Qualifications

• AAA Level 2 qualification or equivalent is required.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certification is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel or large restaurant.
• At least 12 months’ experience in a Commis Chef position.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills are essential.
• Experience in a 1- or 2-AA Rosette environment is desirable.
• AAA Level 3 qualification or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food in line with department standards and recipes.
• Ensure all food products and stock are correctly labelled, rotated and stored.
• Maintain cleanliness, presentation and hygiene within the kitchen.
• Support delivery of exceptional internal and external customer service.
• Assist in care, control and maintenance of kitchen equipment and stock.
• Attend training sessions and departmental briefings.
• Work with Culinary team and wider resort departments.
• Escalate guest complaints or health and safety issues promptly to your supervisor.
• Minimise waste and use resources efficiently to support environmental objectives.
• Comply with Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Food Safety and company policies.

OVERVIEW

Working as part of our Culinary team, youwill play a key role in delivering exceptional food standards, maintaining asafe and hygienic working environment, and supporting our commitment tooutstanding guest experiences across The Celtic Collection.

OUR IDEAL HERO WILL HAVE

• AAA Level 2 qualification or equivalent
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certification
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel and/or largereputable restaurant
• At least 12 months’ experience in a Commis Chef position
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills
