The Role

Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking a Legal Cashier Team Leader to join our Finance team at our Head Office at Walton Summit. This is a full-time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday. The role will be initially based at our Rutherford House and then moving to our Walton Summit Office at a later date.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier to bring their experience and knowledge and lead our Legal Cashier team. While the role demands the fast pace, customer focus, and high standards of a law firm, it also ensures a sustainable work-life balance, reflecting the regional area it serves.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for achieving successful outcomes such as:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to the Cash Office team to achieve departmental goals;
  • Training, mentoring and supervising the Cash Office team to ensure high performance;
  • Promoting efficiencies and driving continuous improvement;
  • Creating and documenting efficient processes and procedures;
  • Supervision of team; including Work allocation, preparing staff rotas for fair distribution of work; ensuring all tasks are completed;
  • SAR audit lead key point of contact for auditors;
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and firmwide policies;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business needs;
  • Involved in daily tasks such as: daily banking functions; preparing online electronic bank transfers; bank reconciliations; processing client to office transfers; email queries.

The Person

We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:

  • extensive experience in a legal cash office setting;
  • demonstrated leadership and team management skills;
  • strong expertise in financial systems and data reconciliation;
  • proficient in using Practice Management Systems;
  • in-depth knowledge and application of SRA Accounts Rules, Accounting and VAT regulations;
  • exceptional organisational and staff management capabilities;
  • ability to work autonomously and navigate complex challenges;
  • strong sense of professional responsibility and integrity;
  • aligns with the Firms values;
  • have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • have the ability to work as part of a team;
  • have strong commercial awareness;
  • have proven competence in their IT skills (Outlook, Word, and other systems experience);
  • have good communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • have an interest in long term development/progression in the department;
