Job summary

North London college is seeking a Carpentry Lecturer to join our Construction team. You will deliver practical and theoretical carpentry lessons to a range of levels, plan and prepare high-quality teaching activities, and support students in developing their practical skills.

Candidates should have strong industry experience in carpentry and joinery, relevant trade qualifications, and a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.

Qualifications

• Extensive carpentry and joinery industry experience.
• Trade qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds.
• Qualified teacher or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and theoretical carpentry lessons to students across levels.
• Plan and prepare high-quality teaching and learning activities.
• Support students in developing practical skills, knowledge and understanding of carpentry and joinery.
• Assess students' work and provide constructive feedback to support their progress.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and workshop practice.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure an excellent student experience.
• Support learners in preparing for further study, apprenticeships and employment within the construction sector.
