Job summary

Wigan & Leigh College is seeking a part-time Lecturer in Carpentry and Joinery to teach Level 2 and 3 students. You will deliver practical and classroom sessions, develop understanding of materials, tools and techniques, and assess progress against industry and awarding body standards.

The role requires a degree or vocational qualification in Carpentry/Joinery, GCSEs in English and Maths, and a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one, with potential to travel between college

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Carpentry/Joinery.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or equivalent) - may be achieved during probation.
• Teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one with college support.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons across Level 2 and 3.
• Mark work and give clear feedback.
• Monitor attendance and promote positive behaviour.
• Keep accurate records of progress and assessments.
• Act as a Personal Tutor and provide pastoral guidance.
• Coordinate courses and support departmental initiatives.
