Job summary

Protocol Education in Hartlepool is seeking a dedicated Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to deliver engaging and practical lessons to Level 1 students. This role suits an experienced lecturer or industry professional looking to transition into education and help learners start construction careers.

You will teach Level 1 Carpentry & Joinery, cover workshop and theory, assess progress, and support learners toward qualifications while maintaining a safe learning environment and promoting industry

Qualifications

  • Experience in Carpentry & Joinery or construction industry.
  • Experience in teaching, training or mentoring is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Passion for developing learners in construction.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Carpentry & Joinery lessons to Level 1 learners.
  • Teach both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support learners to achieve qualifications and career goals.
  • Maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer

Location: Hartlepool

Hours per week: 18 hours

Schedule: Monday to Thursday

Are you a skilled Carpentry & Joinery professional with a passion for developing the next generation of tradespeople?

Protocol Education is working in partnership with a college seeking a dedicated Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to deliver engaging and practical lessons to Level 1 students. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lecturer or industry professional looking to transition into education and make a lasting impact on learners beginning their construction careers.

The Role

You will be responsible for teaching and supporting Level 1 Carpentry & Joinery students, helping them develop the practical skills, technical knowledge, and confidence required to progress within the construction industry.

Key responsibilities
  • Delivering engaging Carpentry & Joinery lessons to Level 1 learners.
  • Teaching both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory.
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals.
  • Maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Promoting industry standards, health and safety, and best practice throughout all sessions.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience within Carpentry & Joinery or the wider construction industry.
  • Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience (desirable but not essential).
  • A recognised Carpentry & Joinery qualification.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for supporting and inspiring young people.
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements within workshop environments.
