Job summary

Carpentry and Joinery Technician

Location: Neath Pay: £14.25–£16.20 per hour Start Date: Immediate start Contract: Full-time, temporary with the potential to become permanent

Are you passionate about carpentry and joinery and keen to support the next generation of skilled tradespeople? TeacherActive is working in partnership with a Further Education college in Neath to recruit a Carpentry and Joinery Technician to join its construction department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical industry experience who enjoys working in a hands‑on environment and helping students develop their skills in the trade.

The Role

• Preparing tools, materials and equipment for practical lessons.
• Maintaining woodworking tools, machinery and workshop equipment.
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Supporting lecturers and students during practical sessions.
• Helping to create a safe, well‑organised and effective learning environment.
