Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer for a Further Education college in Neath, with immediate start. The role is temporary, with the potential to become long-term or permanent, working in a hands-on workshop and classroom setting.

You will deliver theoretical and practical lessons, assess learner progress, and maintain a safe workshop. A Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery qualification and recognised teaching qualification are preferred; industry experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Carpentry & Joinery qualification at Level 3 or equivalent (or higher).
• Experience in Carpentry & Joinery industry.
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, PCE or equivalent).
• Experience teaching in Further Education or vocational settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons in Carpentry & Joinery.
• Assess learner progress and support their development.
• Maintain a safe, positive workshop environment.
• Support learners to develop practical Carpentry & Joinery skills.
• Manage classroom and workshop effectively with strong health and safety practices.

TeacherActive is looking for a dedicated Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to join a Further Education college in Neath, supporting learners as they develop the practical skills and industry knowledge needed for successful careers in construction.

As a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer, you will:

• Deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons.
• Help learners develop their Carpentry & Joinery skills.
• Assess learner progress and support their development.
• Maintain a safe, positive and productive workshop environment.
• A relevant Carpentry & Joinery qualification, ideally Level 3 or equivalent.
• Relevant industry experience in Carpentry & Joinery.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, PCE or equivalent)
• Experience teaching or training learners in Further Education or a vocational setting
• Strong classroom and workshop management skills.
• A sound understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping learners reach their full potential.
