Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to join a Further Education college in Neath, delivering engaging theoretical and practical lessons and supporting learners to develop industry skills. You will assess progress, maintain a safe workshop, and hold a Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery qualification with relevant industry experience; a PGCE/PCE or equivalent teaching qualification is desirable.

TeacherActive is looking for a dedicated Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to join a Further Education college in Neath, supporting learners as they develop the practical skills and industry knowledge needed for successful careers in construction.

As a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer, you will:

• Deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons.
• Help learners develop their Carpentry & Joinery skills.
• Assess learner progress and support their development.
• Maintain a safe, positive and productive workshop environment.
• A relevant Carpentry & Joinery qualification, ideally Level 3 or equivalent.
• Relevant industry experience in Carpentry & Joinery.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, PCE or equivalent) desirable.
• Experience teaching or training learners in Further Education or a vocational setting desirable.
• Strong classroom and workshop management skills.
• A sound understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping learners reach their full potential.
