Job summary

Wates Property Services (WPS) is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Responsive Maintenance team, supporting a social housing contract across the Redditch area. This hands-on role involves carrying out day-to-day carpentry repairs and delivering a high standard of workmanship and excellent customer service to residents.

You'll work on doors, frames, skirting, architraves, kitchens and general repairs, aiming for first-time fixes.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent required.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience in social housing responsive maintenance preferred.
• Able to work independently with a varied workload.
• Strong communication and customer-focused approach.
• Committed to quality, safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive carpentry repairs and maintenance in social housing properties.
• Work on doors, frames, skirting, architraves, kitchens, windows and general repairs.
• Strive for first-time fixes wherever possible.
• Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets and material records.
• Identify when additional trades are required and liaise with your Supervisor.
• Work in line with health and safety and safeguarding standards.
• Provide a professional, resident-focused service on every visit.
