Job summary

Mears Group in Dover is looking for a skilled Carpenter/Joiner to deliver high-quality carpentry repairs in occupied social housing. You will respond to day-to-day repair requests, replace doors, fit kitchens, and perform finishing works to keep homes safe and well-maintained.

This hands-on role requires safe working practices, good customer service, and the ability to record job details on handheld devices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic carpentry and repairs.
• Experience working in occupied homes.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Health and safety awareness and compliant working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day carpentry repairs in occupied properties as part of a responsive maintenance service.
• Replace and repair internal doors, frames, handles, locks, and hinges.
• Fit and adjust kitchen units, worktops, cupboard doors.
• Install or replace skirting boards, architraves and other decorative joinery.
• Repair timber flooring, stair components, and handrails as required.
• Carry out fire regulation works and related repairs.
• Make good after repairs with patch plastering or tiling as needed.
• Record job details and materials used using handheld devices.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in residents’ homes.
