Job summary

Amey is offering an on-site Carpenter/Joiner role at HMYOI Lincoln. The position is 39 hours per week with a weekend shift pattern and a rota of 1 in 3 weekends, plus a 15% allowance.

You will carry out joinery work on doors, windows and bespoke timber items, maintain the joinery workshop, order materials and support zero-carbon initiatives. Prison security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 in Joinery & Carpentry.
• Manual tool handling.
• Ladder use.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
• Carry out joinery work to include repairing of doors, windows, signposts, formwork, and other bespoke timber items.
• Responsible for joinery workshop - maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping, and cleanliness.
• Organise and plan your daily work with the supervisor, to record and submit all details of work carried out on relevant works orders.
• Measure and quote for works.
• Order materials.
• Maintain stock of Building Maintenance material.
• Support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
• Handle all other reasonable requests as determined by your line manager.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Carpenter/ Joiner in HMYOI Lincoln.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, across 7 days as a weekend shift pattern is in place, covering 1 in 3 weekends. There is a need to work some weekends on a rota basis and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

The base salary is between £30,866 - £36,135 dependant on experience.

By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.

The Carpenter & Joiner plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner
