Job summary

The Local Authority is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join their maintenance division on an ongoing temporary contract in Redditch. The role covers 1st and 2nd fix carpentry across occupied council properties, with a 37-hour week and pay of £19.42 per hour, paid weekly via umbrella.

Start date is ASAP. You will install doors, frames, skirting, architraves and kitchen units, perform responsive maintenance, and keep accurate records.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience carrying out 1st and 2nd fix carpentry.
• Experience working in social housing or property maintenance.
• Must hold a full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 1st and 2nd fix carpentry repairs within occupied council properties.
• Complete responsive maintenance and repair works to a high standard.
• Install, repair and replace doors, frames, skirting, architraves and kitchen units.
• Undertake repairs to windows, flooring and other timber fixtures.
• Diagnose faults and ensure all work is completed right first time.
• Work safely and efficiently in occupied properties whilst providing excellent customer service.
• Maintain accurate records of completed works using PDA systems.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety regulations.
