Job summary

Ayrshire Independent Living Network is seeking a part-time Personal Assistant/Support Worker to join a small care team in Mauchline, East Ayrshire. The role supports a young man with complex physical disabilities in his family home, requiring 16 contracted hours weekly and PVG/Disclosure checks.

You will work alongside an experienced PA and the family, providing compassionate, person-centred care and accompanying him on community activities using his wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.
• Full training and support will be provided.
• Rural location; having a driving licence may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Providing full personal care with dignity and respect.
• Assisting with showering, dressing and daily living.
• Safe moving and handling with specialist equipment, including a hoist.
• Supporting with eating, drinking and wellbeing.
• Accompanying on community outings and appointments using his wheelchair accessible vehicle.
• Working closely with his family to ensure continuity of care and adherence to care plans.
