Job summary

Donnington Care Home in Newbury is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The role supports the kitchen by plating meals, preparing trolleys and maintaining clean, safe food prep areas.

The position is permanent and offers 30 hours per week with competitive pay and benefits. You will work closely with chefs and care-home staff to ensure residents enjoy a high-quality dining experience and a home-from-home atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Past kitchen work with a focus on safety and cleanliness.
• Holder of a valid Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Good communication with team and residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the chefs with plating meals and preparing food trolleys.
• Keep preparation areas clean and tidy in line with COSHH/HACCP policies.
• Support with stock rotation and event catering as needed.
• Serve meals and ensure residents have a pleasant dining experience.
