Job summary

Hatzfeld Care Ltd is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help prepare meals for residents under the Head Chef. You will assist with stock ordering, maintain stock controls, and ensure all equipment is safe and used properly.

You will be mindful of dietary needs and health and safety standards while helping to deliver meals and support residents in a homely setting. The role offers part-time hours, on-site car park, meals provided, and a range of staff benefits including counselling and pension.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen/provision within care settings is desirable.
• Able to understand health and safety requirements in a kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of Head Chef, assist in identifying items to order from suppliers to ensure stock.
• Operate an efficient stock control system.
• Ensure equipment is used correctly and report faults immediately.
• Prepare food items under guidance of Head Chef.
• Support delivery and serving of food when required.
• Understand service user dietary needs and dietary concerns with Head Chef.
• Follow health and safety requirements and infection control.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation at all times.
• Report incidents or accidents to the cook and record actions.
• Promote welfare of residents under the service.
